Licensed Mental Health Therapist

My name is Krystine Garay. I am a licensed mental health counselor, marriage family therapist, and certified telehealth practitioner.

Raised in Miami, Florida, and being part of the Hispanic community, I have been able to serve my community by providing services in English and Spanish. Throughout my five years in the field, I have served an array of individuals, including children, adolescents, and adults. I have had clinical experiences in domestic violence, substance abuse, navigating family conflicts within the court system, co-occurring disorders (specifically in children), and mental health disorders.

In 2013, I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida International University. I obtained my master’s degree with a dual specialization in mental health and marriage and family counseling at Barry University. After gaining knowledge and experience in psychology, I decided to obtain my doctorate in clinical psychology with a concentration in health psychology from Carlos Albizu University.

As a psychology intern, I have completed clinical rotations, including Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, where I aided children in navigating co-occurring disorders. I would provide mindfulness exercises, cognitive-behavioral strategies, and dialectical-behavioral techniques to assist in understanding their medical diagnosis in conjunction with building coping skills to manage psychological and physiological symptoms.

“If you can dance in the rain, you can overcome any storm.” “Personal growth is about progress, not perfection.” I am passionate about the psychological field and I look forward to continuing to plant the seed of change for all my clients.
